WITHDREWAL OF THE TEXT WHICH WAS FOUND TO BE DISTURBING ON THE BASIS OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND GENDER IDENTITY, AN APOLOGY PUBLISHED ON THE PORTALS

Following the decision made by the Commission for Prevention and Protection from Discrimination for harassment based on sexual orientation and gender identity, by the author of the text “Forgive me gay friends, it’s not up to hormones, it’s up to logic!” and the portals that published misli.mk, temite.mk and tribuna.mk, the disputed content was removed, and an apology was published on the portals.

The representative of the discriminators informed the Commission on 24 September that the recommendations made in determining the harassment had been acted upon.

Acting on a complaint filed by the Coalition for Sexual and Health Rights of Marginalized Communities MARGINI and the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association, the Commission for Prevention and Protection from Discrimination found harassment committed by the author of the text, Elizabeta Najdoska Velichkova, as well as Atanas Velickov, Aleksandra Trnkovska and Petar Kolev registrants on the portals misli.mk, temite.mk and tribuna.mk which published the text with disturbing content.
