CPPD SIGNED A MEMORANDUM FOR COOPERATION WITH POLIO PLUS – MOVEMENT AGAINST HANDICAPE

In order to effectively implement the Law on Prevention and Protection from Discrimination, as well as the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which aims to promote, protect and ensure full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms for all citizens with disabilities and promotion of respect of their inherent dignity, the Commission for Prevention and Protection from Discrimination signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Polio Plus – Movement Against Disability.

The memorandum of cooperation was signed on September 25 as part of the “Day of Civil Society Organizations”. The President of CPPD, Vesna Bendevska, after the signing of the Memorandum said that the purpose of this cooperation is to encourage citizens to report cases of discrimination.

“The louder we all are, the clearer the public will be informed about our real problems,” Bendevska said.

Since its establishment, the Commission has been successfully cooperating with several organizations and institutions, and in addition to the Memorandum of Cooperation with Polio Plus, has signed a memoranda with the OSCE, the British Embassy in Skopje, the Network for Protection against Discrimination, the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association and FFM.
