MILENKO NEDELKOVSKI PERFORMED HARASSMENT ON THE BASIS OF GENDER IDENTITY, SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND BELONGING TO A MARGINALIZED GROUP

The Commission for Prevention and Protection from Discrimination found harassment based on gender identity, sexual orientation and belonging to a marginalized group committed by Milenko Nedelkovski through his Twitter account.

The complaint to the CPPD was submitted by the Association for Sexual and Gender Minorities “Subverziven front” for the publication of the textual content on the Twitter profile of Milenko Nedelkovski in the context of the second Pride Parade in Skopje. Nedelkovski wrote on his profile “Everyone has the right to non-medical treatment. Including these people on the parade and including you as well. Every state has the right to defend the MAJORITY normal population.” This text was the subject of comments and shares by other people, which incited hatred towards the LGBTQ + community and its supporters.

The CPPD submitted a notification to Milenko Nedelkovski with a request for a written statement on the allegations in the complaint, but he did not submit a response.

It is recommended that Milenko Nedelkovski immediately removes the harassing content from the social network “Twitter” and publicly apologizes for the written text with which the harassment was committed on the basis of gender identity, sexual orientation and belonging to a marginalized group to LGBTQ people.
